OFFICE MANAGER
Elizabeth O’Brien, B.A.
I was born and raised in Beaufort and spent 15 years in the Midwest before returning to Beaufort in 2007 with my husband and two children.  I graduated from Indiana University in 1996 with a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science.  After graduation, I moved to Chicago and worked at advertising agencies primarily focused on internet marketing and also worked as a manager in a regional sales office for AOL. Prior to joining Riverview I worked at the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce as the Public Relations and Marketing Manager for tourism.  I very much enjoyed the opportunity to put my experience to use to show off our amazing little town while making a positive impact in the community, and I look forward to working with the talented Riverview staff and faculty and getting to know all of the children and their families.  In my “spare” time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, relaxing at the beach, outdoor exercise, reading and traveling.

RECEPTIONIST
Joy O’Kelley, B.A.
Mrs. O’Kelley is a South Carolina native who graduated from College of Charleston with a BA in Corporate Communications. Her professional experience includes over 10 years in advertising and marketing earned in advertising agencies in Charleston, SC, Washington, DC and New York, NY. Soon after moving back to South Carolina, she began working as Director of Marketing at Centex Homes in Bluffton. In 2007, she married Arthur O’Kelley and now has two precious daughters, Virginia and Caroline. Mrs. O’Kelley is responsible for the receptionist duties in the front office and enjoys meeting and greeting all the children and families that come through the door. Mrs. O’Kelley enjoys spending time with family and friends, running and dancing with her husband and girls!

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR
Beth Birkhead, B.S.

Apple Certified Technical Coordinator 10.6
Beth Birkhead is a native South Carolinian. She graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Construction Science and Management, and worked in the construction industry until she made a career change three years ago to serve as Riverview's Technology Integrator. She loved it and continues with the school as our Information Technology Coordinator, providing data coordination and keeping all of our Apple computers up and running!  Ms. Birkhead also teaches dance in the Tidewatch afterschool program.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, listening to music, playing Just Dance on Nintendo Wii, reading, and practicing yoga.  She looks forward to the day that her four year old daughter, Kate, enrolls in Kindergarten at Riverview.

SCHOOL NURSE
Cathy Bridgers, R.N.
Cathy graduated from the University of Florida, BAE, and the Technical College of the Lowcountry, ADN. Her nursing experience is extensive and includes emergency nursing, postpartum and nursery, as well as cardiac and pulmonary rehab. nursing. Cathy has assisted with Camp Sea Breeze, an asthma camp for children. A native of Beaufort County, Cathy and her husband, Rob are the parents of four children, a rising sophmore and freshman at BHS, and two children at Riverview. I was drawn to Riverview by the mission statement and am very excited to be looking after the health needs of your children at Riverview Charter School.

TIDEWATCH PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Whitney Cowins
This is Whitney’s second year working in TIDEWATCH, although her family has been a part of the Riverview family for three years now.  She is currently going to school for Early Childhood Education at Technical College of the Low Country and will be graduating next spring.  Whitney is very excited and ready for another great year at TIDEWATCH!

KITCHEN ASSISTANT
Eunice Holmes
I am a Beaufort native, born and raised in Port Royal. Previously, I worked for Carolina Cleaning as the school’s custodian. I am so happy to be part of the cafeteria team! I also worked at Coosa Elementary School in the cafeteria. I love cooking and working with children. In my spare time, I love to play Bingo and go shopping. I have four children and four grandchildren who love my cooking! It has been a pleasure working at the school and getting to know the staff and families.
