Our body systems unit was all about developing an understanding that systems have parts and they work together. We researched 6 body systems and presented our research in the form of murals and individual student "lap books" to show what we learned. At Portfolio Night, we celebrated our learning by sharing our work. The Empty Bowls service project helped us understand that people don't always have the food they need for their bodies to function properly. We worked to create a simple soup to show that together we can "fill a bowl" and do our part to help others. In math, we continue to build our understanding of place value as a foundation of our work in addition and subtraction. Our writers published their own personal narratives and began a unit on informational writing. October and November were busy for us!
