¡Hola a todos!
Welcome back to a wonderful school year!
We have started this year with our traditional lessons on greetings/goodbyes and our calendar awareness. We have also been working on cultural topics like maracas, flamenco, dance and pinatas and following pronunciation tips.
Below you will find what is going on in your child’s class in Spanish:
CYCLE 1: K-2
Kindergarten: Greeting& Goodbyes; Classroom Commands; Numbers 1-10
1st grade: Greetings & Goodbyes; The Calendar; Numbers 1-30; The Family
2nd grade: Greetings & Goodbyes, Feelings; Body systems
CYCLE 3: MIDDLE SCHOOL
6th Grade (Spanish 1 Prep): Greetings, Goodbyes & Courtesy Expressions. Parents can check our weekly class agenda on Edmodo.
7th (Spanish 1A): We are studying our preliminary unit where students have reviewed greetings, numbers, months, days of the week, telling time main questions to ask/give personal information.
8th (Spanish 1B): We started this year with some tongue twisters to improve pronunciation. Then we moved onto our unit on The Family, and we've had great presentations with family trees. Soon these group of students will be working on their projects on Royal Families. 8th graders are getting better and better at communicating in Spanish. I'm very proud of them!
For more information on what is going on in Spanish 1 classes, you can ask your children to walk you through Google Classroom, where every class agenda with homework reminders is posted. All classes will continue to use www.quizlet.com as an online tool to practice the new vocabulary studied in class. Make sure your child spends some time at home visiting this site. It has games that help master vocabulary and/or the spelling of the words.
