We have also spent the past few weeks working in math and learning about numbers to 100 while also spiraling back to previous skills like patterns, and shapes. We have learned how to count to 100 by 10’s and 1’s. We have also learned to find number patterns on a 100’s chart.
Our buddies visit us each week! This time is so special for the kids. We spend a lot of our time together working on projects, but sometimes we get a chance to read together as well. Some of the activities that we have done together include making family glyphs to compare/contrast our families, and using IPADS to create collages about our favorite places in Beaufort.
The Talent Show
Thank you again to everyone who joined us for the Talent Show! We had a wonderful turn out and the students were SO proud of their time on stage.
We had a BLAST celebrating Valentines Day! It was wonderful to stop and tell our friends how much we care about them and spread the LOVE! We were excited to read Valentines Day stories, exchange Valentines, create Valentines for our family and play Valentines Day games. Some of our favorite games were the Cupid game (blowing toothpicks out or straws and into a heart) and our Heart Lava game (students were given two hearts and asked to cross the floor by stepping on the hearts only). We also loved the game where we passed a tissue paper heart around a circle using clothes pins. One of my favorite parts of Valentines Day was when the students were given ten minutes to simply spread the love. We took time to go up to our friends and tell them what makes them special to us and why we appreciate them. It is good for the soul (of all ages) and was a please to watch, participate in and listen to.
