Beginning a new year in Kindergarten!
Our Big Idea, which ties back to each unit of the year, is BEGINNINGS. This helps us understand that all things have a beginning and change over time. We’ve discovered that we start to know about people, places, and things by first finding out its name. We just finished our first unit: NAMING. In this unit, students have been learning about the purpose of names in our big, wide, world. We’ve learned to label, identify people in our new school, and the importance of having a name for people and things. Activities that we’ve done with our names include: Making a Name Quilt, magazine name tags, bean name tags, labeling the classroom, and much more.
Welcome to Mrs. Lindsey and Mrs. Ellen's kindergarten class!! We value educating the whole child through meaningful learning experiences! As teachers are passionate about an innovative learning environment, meaningful lessons, and creating a hands on learning community. I truly enjoy working with children, educators, and families to inspire and support innovative learning. Our classroom community aspires to make a difference in education and our community. By believing that every learner deserves a dimensional education, assured self-concept, positive motivation, experiential learning, good peer relationships, a desire to learn, as well as fundamental knowledge of reading, writing, and math we will continue to grow into problem solvers and information seekers!
