Middle School Disco Dance!
A big shout our to our 7/8 Student Council for organizing a successful dance! They hosted 152 middle schoolers for a night of fun!

Big Idea: Synergy
Essential Question: How and why do structures unite?
After discovering the "ingredients" leading many European countries to synergize and expand their empires, students had fun creating "Recipes for Imperialism." (pictures below)
Students gained empathy for the plight of those who lost their jobs, incomes, and life savings after the Great Crash of 1929 as they participated in a simulation of the Worldwide Great Depression. (pictures below)
Guiding Question: Can synergy exist in, or result from, war? Students were guided by this question as they reflected on their learning of WWI. They created black-out poetry as an expression of their interpretation of the synergy, or lack of it, in the war. Then they wrote personal reflections of their learning experience. (pictures below)
