This month we continue our regular calendar awareness focusing on how to say 2016. Below you will find what is going on in your child’s Spanish class...
Kindergarten: months (review) & days of the week
1st grade: The Solar System
2nd grade: The Spanish Alphabet (review), Colors & Flags of Spanish-speaking countries.
6th Grade (Spanish 1 Prep): We are studying weather expressions. 6th grade students will be presenting their trimester 2 projects in which they have researched about natural disasters caused by weather in certain Hispanic countries. They have also created Spanish weather reports that will share with their class on Tuesday, January 19.
7th (Spanish 1A): We continue learning about verbs (infinitive forms) in the Spanish language, and practicing expressions to talk about likes and dislikes as presented in Chapter 1A.
8th (Spanish 1B): We are about to finish chapter 5 Part 1 on family relationships and people descriptions. Students will be presenting their projects about royal families arounf the world next Friday, January 22.
For more information regarding what is going on in the middle school classes, please go to www.edmodo.com and have your child walk you throrugh the website, show you their assignments, my regular posts, or join our class groups with a parent account.
As usual all classes use www.quizlet as an online tool to practice all the new vocabulary studied in class, and work on Duolingo to reinforce or build prior knowledge on a wide variety of topics. Please make sure your child spends some time at home visiting these sites to continue building their Spanish language skills.
