Welcome to our new and wonderful 2019-2020 school year!
We have started this year with our traditional lesson on greetings/goodbyes and our calendar awareness. Below you will find what is going on in your child’s class in Spanish:
Kindergarten: In Trimester 1 we learned to greet people in Spanish, to follow commands, to count from 1-20. We have started our second part of the year with Holidays and Calendar words, and we will continue mastering those till after our winter break.
First Grade: We reviewed some vocabulary from last year's units in August and September, then we focused on Feelings, and we have just started a new unit on The Family (Mi Familia).
2nd Grade: We completed our units on Feelings, Parts of the Face and we will soon be finished with Body Parts.
6th Grade: We have studied a lot of expressions related to Greetings & Goodbyes, numbers 0-60, and telling the time in Spanish. We are about to start a Holidays & Calendar unit soon.
7th (Spanish 1A): We finished our preliminary unit, and we are now working on unit 1. This new unit is all about asking/tellng what you like or dislike. A lot of new words for our 7th graders, so Quizlet practice is a must.
8th (Spanish 1B): We reviewed a lot of vocabulary expressions from Spanish 1A, learned to conjugate verbs, created board games to master them and have just started a new chapter on Royal Families Around The World.
For more information on what is going on in our Spanish middle school classes, have your child walk you through our Google Classroom pages.
All classes will be using www.quizlet as an online tool to practice all the new vocabulary studied in class. make sure your child spends some time at home visiting this site. it has games that help retain meanings and/or the spelling of the words.
