March Newsletter

March was movie month!
Students in both first grade and third grade used iMovie to create movies that integrated with classroom studies.

At the end of their Civil War unit, third grade students used what they had learned to create their own unique movies sharing their knowledge.  Here's just a few examples of what they created.
In first grade students finished up their fairy tale unit by creating their very own fairy tale movie!  This is still a work in progress for many students, but here's a finished version from one student.
Finally, 6th grade was asked "Is Apple Right or Wrong?".  Given the events that have made headlines, students were asked to research and analyze Apple's stance against the FBI.  I provided students with three resources to get them started but then they were tasked with forming their own opinion and creating an iMovie or Keynote that backed up their research and opinion. Students were on both sides of the debate.  We even watched a bit of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in class!
